Maldives attaches importance to relations with Spain

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has revealed Maldives places high importance in the relations with Spain. The president made the remarks at the ceremony held at President's Office to present the credentials of new Ambassador of Spain to Maldives José Ramón Barañano Fernández.

President Solih welcomed the ambassador to Maldives and congratulated him on the commencement of his term. The president further expressed Maldives places high importance in the relations with Spain and highlighted several avenues in which the two countries can take bilateral relations forward highlighting the spheres of economic cooperation; tourism, fisheries and agriculture; as well as renewable energy.

The ambassador expressed it was a privilege to represent his country to Maldives and reiterated the president's sentiments regarding strengthening relations between the two countries.
