Teachers’ knowledge and experience vital in a changing world, says Vice President

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef stated that the knowledge and experience of teachers play an important role in an ever-changing world.

He made the remarks during the eighth international teacher’s Conference. The Vice President further noted that teachers play a pivotal role in shaping the futures of students.

The Vice President stated that holding events such as teacher’s conferences is important for both the future of the country as well as developing and further providing support for teachers. He further stated that conferences and other similar events provide teachers with a platform to discuss "global" best practices as well as publish their own findings and research.

He stated that in a constantly evolving world it is important for the practices of the educational sector to also adapt to these changes. In this regard he stated that the use of Artificial Intelligence in the educational sector, could provide teachers with new opportunities as well as benefit students.

In his speech he stated that no technology could replace the crucial work that teachers do in the educational field in creating responsible students that would integrate into society. He stated that only teachers can make a student realise their full potential. He further stated that teachers should be provided with the tools and skills that they would need to evolve in the modern world.

He stated that every child is different and that in a comprehensive, well rounded educational sector every child would be given the opportunities to be able to reach their full potential and that teachers should cater their teaching practices to the needs of the students. He also stated classrooms should be created in a way that allows students to reach their potential.

To conclude, he said that for those who have experience in the technological field and have vocational training are important for the development and the future of the country. He reiterated that vocational education is crucial for the future of the educational sector.
