Maldives express eagerness to collaborate with India on bilateral, regional and international issues

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stressed the high esteem with which the Maldives have always held with India and expressed eagerness to collaborate with India on important bilateral, regional and international issues.

During a ceremony held at the President’s Office for the newly appointed Ambassador of India to Maldives Sunjay Sudhir to present his credentials, President Solih conveyed his warmest regards and well wishes to the Government and people of India. The president welcomed the new ambassador to Maldives and congratulated him on his new appointment, following which, the two discussed ways to take bilateral relations forward.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Sudhir reciprocated the president’s warm sentiments and reiterated the high priority the Indian government accords to maintaining the historically friendly relations between the two countries and further expressed an eagerness to continue working together on areas of mutual interest.
