Finance Minister participates in GES 2019

Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer has participated and delivered a keynote speech at the 8th Global Economic Summit (GES), held from March 6-8 in Mumbai, India. The finance minister is taking part in the summit as a special representative of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

The objective of GES is to enable participants to explore the linkages between firms in the service sector and those operating in the domains of technology, manufacturing and agriculture. The summit will identify trends, opportunities and challenges in services. It will also explore the role of technology and its impact in the wake of technological advancements in diverse streams of the service sector, thereby improving productivity in manufacturing and agriculture

Policy makers, international experts from multilateral organisations, multinational corporations, academicians and industry leaders will deliberate on enhancing economic and business competitiveness in accessing global markets at the summit.
