PPM-PNC endorses 34 JP candidates

Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and People's National Congress (PNC) have announced the opposition coalition will field a total of 66 candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections, including candidates from Jumhooree Party (JP).

In a press conference, the opposition coalition announced candidates from PPM-PNC and JP who have been endorsed. In this regard, JP will not field candidates for the constituencies PPM-PNC coalition will be fielding candidates. PPM-PNC has backed the 34 candidates from JP who are running for the parliamentary elections.

Meanwhile, each party has decided to compete for additional 13 constituencies. Although the PPM-PNC coalition has made the announcement, so far no comments have been made by JP, which holds the second biggest share in the government coalition. Moreover, PPM-PNC coalition also endorsed 4 candidates fielded by Maldivian Development Alliance (MDA).
