State receives over USD 265 million as revenue in past two months

The State receives over USD 265 million as revenue during the first two months of the year.

Over USD 265 million received from the first two months of the year is 17.9% of the USD 1.508 billion expected as revenue for the year, according to statistics published by Ministry of Finance. While the State received over USD 265 million during the past two months, the biggest amount was received as tax revenue. In this regard, over USD 213 million was received as tax, out of which USD 84 million was attained as Goods and Services Tax (GST) while the remaining USD 65 million was attained as Business Profit Tax (BPT).

Meanwhile, the state spent USD 220 million on expenses which resulted in a USD 50 million profit for the period. Highlighting on separate expenses, 19% or USD 42.261 million was spent on development, 18% or USD 175 million was spent on recurrent expenses which includes the amount spent on salaries and pension.
