Male' City Mayor Sifa Mohamed has revealed plans for the City Council to take over the provision of municipal services at Hulhumale'.
Addressing a meeting held with Male' residents, Mayor Sifa noted the several difficulties that surface as all municipal services in Hulhumale' are managed by Housing Development Corporation (HDC). She highlighted, so far, residents of Hulhumale' have not received adequate municipal services.
Noting discussions have been held with HDC, Sifa said preparations are underway to take over the municipal activities of Hulhumale'. Sifa added, HDC has allocated land to build a city council office. Sifa revealed, under municipal responsibilities, the market will be developed and the transportation system will also be strengthened.
On conclusion, Male' City Mayor Sifa expressed, the city council has begun functioning efficiently since President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih assumed office.
