Vice President Faisal Naseem attends the campaign activities of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP). In this regard, the vice president, who is a member of Jumhooree Party (JP), visited Gan in Laamu Atoll and participated in campaign activities held by the MDP candidate competing in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
While vice president is attending MDP candidate's campaign activities in Gan, JP has also fielded a candidate for the same constituency. In this regard, JP has fielded the lawyer of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom to compete for Gan constituency.
Following the events, in a message to leadership of the party, Leader of JP Qasim Ibrahim called for his party members to actively engage in campaign activities to elect the candidates from JP and its allies. Qasim expressed with detestation the positions in the government were attained with the endorsement of JP, adding loyalty to the party is considered as serving the party.
Moreover, Qasim Ibrahim has announced the decision to endorse candidates from the opposition coalition, which has met with heavy criticism from key figures in the government filling slots allocated to JP.
