Maldives and India pledge to continue working together

Maldives and India have pledged to continue working together on issues of mutual concern and benefit. The discussions took place during the courtesy call by Minister of External Affairs of India Sushma Swaraj on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih at the President's Office.

During the meeting, both the president and the minister remarked that bilateral relations between Maldives and India are on a positive trajectory and pledged to continue working together on issues of mutual concern and benefit.

The Indian external affairs minister arrived in Maldives on an official visit on an invitation from Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid. She is accompanied by a delegation comprised of high ranking Indian government officials.

The minister and her delegation also met with individual Maldivian cabinet ministers to further discuss how the Indian government could be of assistance to the Maldives in different areas.
