Maldives and Thailand have discussed on formalising visa waiver arrangement between the two countries. The discussions took place during the side-line meeting held by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid with the Thailand delegation attending the Second High Level United Nations Conference on South-South Cooperation, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

During the meeting, foreign minister highlighted the importance of Thailand market in the Maldivian business, adding Maldives host a large number of Thai investments. While Maldives is ready to formalise the visa agreement, discussions regarding the matter commenced last year.
