Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Authority has revealed a nationwide apprenticeship programme will commence this year, to build human resources.
Speaking at the ceremony held to sign the agreement with TVET to conduct industrial training programmes, Minister of State for Higher Education Mohamed Hashim, who is tasked with managing the authority, said discussions are in process with relevant authorities. The state minister added plans are underway to begin the programme in the month of Ramadan. He noted the programme will assist in building technical human resources needed for the sectors.
The apprenticeship programme is a combination of on-the-job training and the classroom training, wherein the workers earn while learning the skills required for performing the specialised job.
