Ministry of Finance has revealed plans to establish water and sewerage facilities in 35 islands with funding from Export-Import (EXIM) Bank of India.
Funds for the project will be arranged from the USD 800 million credit facility provided from Exim Bank, according to finance ministry. Under the credit facility from Exim Bank, water and sewerage facilities will be established in 16 islands, water facilities will be established in 16 islands and sewerage facilities will be established in 3 islands.
Maldives and Exim Bank signed the agreement for the credit facility on March 18.
