President urges Maldivians to embrace an active lifestyle

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has called upon the Maldivian people to build together, an all-inclusive healthcare system, return from the idleness modern technologies allows and to embrace an active lifestyle. The president made the remark in the message he gave to mark World Health Day 2019.

In his message, President Solih stated the Maldivian healthcare system will be developed with the focus of a universal health coverage system which ensures all people and communities have access to quality health services where and when they need them, without suffering financial hardship.

Additionally, the president stated the whole world believes that it is a basic right for every human being to get access to quality healthcare service and that the Maldives has endorsed and followed this motto since a long time back. He also shed light on the fact that under this slogan the Maldives has been providing a large number of healthcare services for free, including vaccines given to children and expecting mothers.

Furthermore, the president emphasized that a good health care system entails prevention before being sick and that this would be achieved through awareness among the civil societies on the diseases that are being spread.

Moreover, the president has stated all the government health service providers have been connected with the same network to ensure better health care services are available in remote areas and to bring a stop to pleas for those who treat for major health issues.
