MTCC to construct phase 2 of Keyodhoo harbour

Government of Maldives has contracted construction of Phase 2 of Keyodhoo harbour to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). The agreement of the venture was signed by Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Planning and Infrastructure Zeeniya Ahmed Hameed and CEO of MTCC Hassan Shah.

Under the agreement, a 212-metre quay wall will be developed in the island in Vaavu Atoll. The project, which costs over USD 1.877 million will also see the development of a 362-metre outer wall and 97-metres of revetments.

According to MTCC, 6,300 cubic metres of dredging and excavation, along with construction of a 102-metre breakwater, a ramp, a concrete bridge, harbour drainage and interlocking pavements will be established in the island.

The project must be completed within 9 months.
