Minister of Housing and Urban Development Aminath Athifa has revealed plans to construct 1,500 housing units in Addu City.
Speaking with members of Addu City Council, Housing Minister Athifa stated it is a pledge of the administration to construct a total of 20,000 housing units across the country within five years. Speaking in this regard, Minister Athifa said a contractor will be finalised and signed within the next four months to construct 5,000 housing units. She detailed the 1,500 housing units from the 5,000 housing units will be developed in Addu City.
Furthermore, the minister expressed hope the Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation Limited established by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will ease the housing issues in Maldives.
