Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Authority has revealed plans to commence a programme in July to develop 1000 individuals from various sectors. The sectors are chosen after assessing which areas need the most human resource, according to TVET Authority.
TVET Authority revealed courses will be focused on five main sectors which are tourism, transportation, construction, fisheries and agriculture and social development.
While the national programme is scheduled to commence in July, TVET Authority said opportunity will be given to some companies to participate. In this regard, 100 staff from State Electric Company (STELCO) and Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) will be given the opportunity.
In addition to companies, individuals who are keen to train from the given sectors can participate in the programme. Upon completion of the programme, a Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA) level 3 certificate will be given to the graduates.
