Service providers sought to begin providing breakfast in all schools

Ministry of Education has sought service providers to begin providing breakfast in all schools with the beginning of second term.

Education ministry issued a notice seeking service providers to prepare breakfast for 180 schools. The ministry has opened opportunity to list names for those interested in bidding process.

Meanwhile, a meeting is scheduled to be held on May 19 to provide information for interested parties which will be followed by a bidding process. The bidding process will be given until May 23 while the project is required of a bid security of USD 325.

Providing breakfast for school children is a pledge included in the first 100-day pledge policy of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and a pilot project has been inaugurated in 25 schools across the country. The project, conducted at a cost of over USD 3.234 million from the state budget, is currently inaugurated in 3 schools in Male', 1 school from Villimale' and 1 school from Hulhumale', in addition to 1 school from each atoll.
