Male' City Council (MCC) has revealed plans to develop a temporary market in west park area. A 50-feet by 100-feet market will be established in the area, according to MCC.

He noted works are being initiated to arrange ways to sold items brought from islands such as coconut, watermelon and chili. Noting the market will be opened only for Ramadan, he added the market slots will be given to interested individuals without a fee.
MCC is working to open the market within the upcoming two days. While efforts are underway to develop temporary markets in West Park and North Harbour, further plans are underway to establish a temporary market in Villimale'.
