Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed the swimming area at the artificial beach in Male' City will be completed within three days.
Speaking to PSM News, Chief Executive Officer Hassan Shah said the artificial beach is developed to a particular concept. Noting development is progressing at a fast pace, Shah revealed efforts to import lights and other equipment to install in the area are also underway. Shah said although challenges are faced in conducting the project, the aim is to complete the project before the given deadline. Moreover, he highlighted there are difficulties in planting coconut palms in the artificial beach.
While many citizens are awaiting the beach to be opened for public, Shah expressed hope to open the swimming area for public within three days. He detailed the area will be completed and opened for public once fences are placed and cleaned.
Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure planned to develop the area on different phases since the area is visited by many citizens. Although MTCC has assured the area will be completed within three days, planning ministry have not disclosed a date to open the swimming area.
