Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof has assured the administration will not obstruct the work of non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
On the same context, Youth Minister Mahloof also assured to support and provide assistance whenever required by NGOs to carry out their mandates. After a meeting held with an NGO for elderly citizens, the minister reiterated to provide assistance to the NGOs to plan and manage events. He highlighted the importance attached by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for community empowerment.
Speaking more about the event to be held for elderly citizens on Saturday, Founder of Maldives Scout and Guide Fellowship (MSGF) Dr. Mariyam Shakeela expressed the aim of the event is to provide a platform for all elderly citizens to meet and show their importance in the society.
Moreover, during the meeting, discussions were held on forming a special council for elderly citizens to further enhance the programmes for elderly citizens.
