Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed the design of road development projects have been changed.
The changes were brought to enhance the quality of roads in reference to past experiences, according to MTCC. The state-owned company added although previously a layer of cement was laid, the layer will now be laid using basalt. MTCC expressed using basalt will keep the roads in good condition for a longer time.
The government has awarded road development projects in 7 islands to MTCC at a cost of over USD 647,580.
