Ungoofaaru Island Council sheds concerns on inappropriate placement of the island harbour

Ungoofaaru Island Council has shed light on concerns of the residents because of the seasonally inappropriate placement of the Island harbour causing several hazards while docking.

At a meeting held with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih at the President’s Office, the island council discussed the priorities and concerns raised by the island’s residents, as well as various development projects the council members have proposed for the benefit of their constituents.

During the meeting, the council highlighted further concerns on the improper waste management, need to upgrade the hospital facility, need to reclaim land, need to reconvene the road development project with proper adjustments to the previous plan, need for a sea ambulance and the need to upgrade the number of classroom in the school.

The president further expressed that the government would take necessary action after discussing with the ministries and address the specific issues and concerns raised by members of the Ungoofaaru Island Council.
