President urges graduates and youth to be involved in nation development

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has urged graduates from higher education programmes and youth to be involved in the development of the country.

Speaking at the A'Level Top Achievers 2018 ceremony, President Solih said the future of the country is connected to the students who have excelled in studies. The president noted the importance of an educated society in developing the country. He advised the students completing education programmes provided by the administration to fully utilise their knowledge and skills for the betterment of the nation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali highlighted the priorities given by the administration to the education sector. The minister expressed to be successful in life, one should be responsible, in addition to excelling in education. She assured her ministry would be vigilant in ensuring an all- inclusive education is provided to all students in the country.

In the A'Level examinations held in 2018, 11 Maldivian students attained first place in world ranking, while 34 students made to the World Top 10. 1,805 students sat in A' Level examinations in 2018, with 187 students included in the National Top 10, according to the education ministry.
