Minister of Higher Education Dr, Ibrahim Hassan has revealed students have been selected for all the slots opened as part of the student loan scheme.
Speaking at a press conference held at the President's Office, Higher Education Minister Ibrahim Hassan said the latest round was the first time students have been selected for all the slots opened. The minister noted most of the applications were complete when submitted, adding the ministry gave a special focus to aware the public on properly filling the applications. He also said an extra 3-working days were provided to the students who submitted incomplete applications.
The higher education minister said a new round of the student loan scheme would be opened for submissions in November. Although the minister did not specify the number of slots allocated for the next round, he revealed options would be available to submit applications for open category and the categories prioritised by the administration in accordance with the national development plan.
