State receives almost USD 25 million as ADF

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has revealed the state received almost USD 25 million as Airport Development Fee (ADF) in the first half of the year, which is a 4.3 percent increase when compared to the first 6 months of 2018.

ADF is levied on passengers departing from Velana International Airport (VIA) on or after May 1, 2017, at a rate of USD 25 per foreign passenger and USD 12 per Maldivian passenger. Only passengers with diplomatic immunity are exempt from ADF.

For scheduled flights, the airlines are responsible for collection of ADF from their passengers.
