Vice President meets Kulhudhuffushi Island Council and ship owners

Vice President Faisal Naseem has met members of the Kulhudhuffushi Island Council and prominent ship owners, as part of his visit to Haa Dhaalu Atoll. The meeting took place at the Secretariat of the Kulhudhuffushi Island Council.

During the meeting, the council members shared several concerns, such as space scarcity at the island schools, issues concerning the waste disposal and shared their interest in promoting the tourism industry within the atoll. They also noted the concerns of the ship owners regarding the harbour development project. The ship owners also reiterated the position of the council members by asserting the harbour development operations that are currently ongoing are not progressing in a way that is most efficient for the ship owners, the most frequent users of the harbour and requested for a prompt solution to the issue.

Vice President Naseem made note of the requests and remarked the administration aims to work closely with all constituents and that all grievances are considered important. The vice president also affirmed he would raise the requests to the relevant ministries and expressed he would take steps to reach an amicable and constructive solution.

Following the meeting, the vice president visited Kulhudhuffushi Hospital and enquired on the progress of the patients seeking treatment.
