Addu begins repairing damages to households due to severe weather

Addu City Council has revealed efforts are underway to repair damages incurred to households due to severe weather conditions.

Speaking to PSM News, Addu City Council said efforts to assist the citizens are underway. Reports show roofs of 21 households were blown away, damage sustained to roofs of 28 households and trees falling onto 18 households, according to the council.

Deputy Mayor of Addu City Mohamed Yasrif stated about 10 households have been repaired with the assistance from Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) with funds provided by the council. He further said the council is continuing to access the damages, while equipment have been distributed to the households in need of repair. The council also noted temporary shelter have been provided to 2 families.
