President urges taxi drivers to provide exceptional services

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has urged taxi drivers to provide exceptional services to the public. The president made the remarks during a meeting with representatives from Taxi Drivers Association.

During the meeting held at the President's Office, representatives from the association shared collective views on matters regarding taxi operations and discussed avenues of resolving pertinent issues. Some key issues noted by the drivers include financial challenges to acquiring new vehicles as per taxi regulations which prohibit the use of vehicles 20 years after its date of manufacture. They also discussed avenues of overcoming the challenges in improving the quality of service to the public.

Speaking at the meeting, President Solih affirmed the administration would work with the relevant stakeholders to address the concerns raised by the association.
