Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure has contracted Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) to construct the harbour in Ihavandhoo, Haa Alifu Atoll and Madduvari, Raa Atoll. The agreement was signed by Director General at Planning ministry Fathimath Shana Farooq and CEO of MTCC Hassan Shah.
As part of the agreement, the construction of the harbour in Ihavandhoo will consist of the construction of a 284 metre long breakwater, 178 metre long revetment and 95 metre key wall. The agreement also consists of the construction of a ramp, a walkway, a pavement and instalment of 20 mooring blocks, navigational lights and 27 harbour lights. The project is estimated to cost USD 3.357 million.
Further, the construction of the harbour in Madduvari will consist of the construction of a 411 metre long breakwater, 135 metre long revetment and 566 metre key wall. The agreement also consists of the construction of a ramp, a walkway and instalment of mooring blocks, navigational masts and harbour lights. The project is estimated to cost USD 4.457 million.
