President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with members of the Kudafaree Island Council and senior institutional representatives in the island.
During the meeting held at Kudafaree School, the councillors and institutional representatives provided the president with an overview of their concerns, needs and listed the most frequently cited issues raised by their constituents. In this regard, they shed light on the issues faced by the constituents due to soil erosion, electricity outages, harbour difficulties, healthcare requirements and the need for educational development.
Speaking at the meeting, President Solih shared updates and timelines of projects marked within the scope of the 2019 state budget. He affirmed the government will work on finding a quick solution to the electricity issue and also shared the latest information on the additional classroom block to be built in the school.
President Solih further stated the government would work together with relevant ministries in addressing the issues raised by the representatives of the islands institution.
