Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has revealed incomplete housing units across the country initiated by the previous administration would be finished by the end of 2019.
Speaking to PSM News, Deputy Minister Mohamed Khalis Shareef said there had been lots of unfinished housing units when the new administration came to power last November, adding the ministry is working on to complete those projects and handover to the tenants.
The deputy minister also noted water and sewerage facilities in many islands have not begun despite the projects being contracted to developers. He expressed many projects have been abandoned or remain incomplete across the country.
Deputy Minister Khalis said the island councils will review the status of all eligible applicants and the housing units will be handed over accordingly.
