ICAO to sign an agreement to develop Maldivian civil aviation industry

Maldives have held discussions with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to develop the civil aviation industry in the country. The discussions took place on the side-lines of ICAO General Assembly in Montreal, Canada,

During the meeting held between Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Aishath Nahula and Technical Bureau Director George Vargas, it was decided to sign an agreement to develop the civil aviation industry of Maldives. As part of the agreement, Maldives will receive technical assistance and will contribute in the efforts to implement international standards in the civil aviation industry.

Furthermore, discussions were also focused on attaining funds to finance development projects in the sector.
