Bank of Maldives (BML) has provided finances to 5 islands to conduct projects under its Community Fund Programme.
The Community Fund Programme aims to provide financial assistance to individuals and non-governmental organisations to conduct projects beneficial to island communities. In this regard, BML provided finances to conduct small scale projects including development of parks and picnic areas.
The national bank said the aim of the programme is to disburse profits generated to the island communities. BML said finances have been provided for 10 islands under the programme so far.
