World Bank begins survey on national development

World Bank Group has begun an online survey to gather public comments and suggestions on the second Systematic Country Diagnostic (SCD) in Maldives.

SDC reports are prepared by World Bank Group in close consultation with national authorities and other stakeholders. The SCD is a diagnostic exercise to identify key challenges and opportunities for a country to accelerate progress towards development objectives that are consistent with the twin goals of ending absolute poverty and boosting shared prosperity in a sustainable manner.

SDC in Maldives will aim to evaluate problems, opportunities in the Maldives and seek public suggestions and opinion to identify measures to address the problems. The survey is scheduled to be carried out from October 10-15. The survey has been written in both English and Dhivehi language in order to reach more people.

With the announcement of the survey, World Bank Group has created a twitter account to address comments, concerns of the public with regards to matters related to the bank.

The first SDC of Maldives was formulated in 2016 which provided the fisheries and the tourism sector with the solutions to overcome the challenges in the country.
