Education Minister appeals to develop talents in students

Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali has appealed to develop inborn talents and skills of students. The minister made the statement at the Colours Award ceremony to celebrate sports achievements of students.

Speaking as Chief Guest of the ceremony, the minister remarked all students have some inborn extraordinary ability or talent to develop in life. She said students are different in their levels of skills and certain students excel in some fields.

The education minister urged parents and teachers not to pressure students to develop skills of which they do not have enough talent to acquire. She noted students with natural inborn talents should be allowed to develop skills they already have. She also focused on the importance of sports to remain healthy and active in life and the development of the country through sports as it enhances the ability to work by reducing illnesses.

The annual Colours Award ceremony is held to celebrate the achievements of students who excel in sports.
