The national carrier, Maldivian, announces ticket fares for flights to Funadhoo Airport in Shaviyani Atoll.
The operator of Maldivian, Island Aviation Service Limited (IASL), revealed operations to Funadhoo Airport will commence on February 3. While IASL has decided to operate three weekly flights from Velana International Airport (VIA) to Funadhoo Airport, tickets will be available in three fares.
According to IASL, round trips under normal fare tickets to Funadhoo will cost USD 131.31 and USD 123.50 while the lowest fare is USD 104.21. Maldivian will operate flights to Funadhoo every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The airport was constructed by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) and has a 1,200-metre-long and a 30-metre-wide runway. The airport was developed in a land area of 40 hectares following the reclamation of land from the lagoon.
The airport development project in Funadhoo was completed at a cost of USD 5.7 million and was funded from the state budget.
