CMEC donates a toilet facility to Maldives

The Government of China has donated toilet facilities for the isolation facility established in Farukolhufushi.

The toilet facility at Farukolhufushi area in Hulhumale' phase two was built by China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC), one of the biggest Chinese companies conducting projects in Maldives. The facility was handed over by General Representative of CMEC in Maldives Liu Xiaoda to Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation (HDC) Suhail Ahmed.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Suhail appreciated CMEC for conducting several projects of high importance to Maldives since its commencement of operations in the country. Meanwhile, Liu Xiaoda said Maldives fully cooperates in its projects, specifically highlighting the current situation of the global coronavirus outbreak. He appreciated the decision of Maldives to donate 1 million tuna cans to China as assistance.

At the ceremony, CMEC also donated some equipment required for the precautionary measures against the coronavirus outbreak including medical protective equipment and disinfectants.
