Maldives Immigration launches expatriate tracking system

Maldives Immigration has launched a system to track expatriates in atolls.

At a ceremony held at Maldives Immigration, the system was launched by Parliamentarian Ahmed Saleem. The system named Atholhu Module is a network system which will be monitored by atoll councillors, island councillors and other relevant authorities.

According to Maldives Immigration, the system will ease the procedures related to expatriates and ease implementing relevant policies of the administration. The system is designed to monitor information of expatriates living and working in Maldives.

Immigration stated information about expatriates and their migration from one island to the other can be tracked from the system. The system will also monitor the population of expatriates in the islands.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has formulated a government policy to solve the issues of expatriate labourers and authorities are working to implement the initiatives of the administration to bring a desirable change to the problems.
