Spokesperson of National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) Mohamed Mabrook Azeez has asked to seek advisory of the Health Protection Agency (HPA) on preventive measures to take during the COVID-19 pandemic without concluding a matter on one's own.
Speaking at a press conference, Mabrook said the NEOC will welcome the initiations of local councils and organisations to contain the coronavirus. However, he said it is important to seek advisory and run the decisions through HPA to ensure the measures are beneficial for all.
Furthermore, the spokesperson assured the administration will not discriminate amongst islands in the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic. Mabrook added the utmost priority is to ensure the safety and health of all citizens. He said HPA will continue to take necessary measures depending on the situation and inform relevant authorities.
