Temporary shelters arranged for over 80 homeless individuals in Male’ City

The government has arranged temporary shelters for over 80 homeless individuals in Male’ City.

Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services stated over 80 homeless individuals in Male’ City were brought under state care by Maldives Police Service (MPS). The ministry said temporary shelters and food have been arranged for homeless individuals.

Furthermore, the gender ministry said arrangements are being made to provide relief to individuals seeking assistance from the government following the lockdown imposed in the Greater Male’ Region. As such, the ministry said efforts are underway to provide assistance to over 400 individuals who have reported their conditions to Male’ City Council.

The ministry has requested the public to provide information on any individuals who are struggling to acquire basic necessities such as food and shelter amid the lockdown.
