Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has announced banks will be opened for services on April 27 and April 29.
The central bank said all commercial banks will be opened for services from 0930 hrs to 1200 hrs on April 27 and April 29. MMA said only essential banking services will be provided during those two days. MMA will also be open during the specified hours on April 27 and April 29, although no public services will be provided by the central bank.
Bank of Maldives (BML) and other commercial banks operating in the Maldives have been making arrangements to provide all banking services online. In this regard, services such as payroll and international money transfers are being provided online.
MMA has requested the public to seek details on services provided by specific banks from the website and social media accounts of the respective banks.
