Total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives rises to 141

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives has risen to 141. HPA said 9 Maldivians, 2 Indians, and 2 Sri Lankans tested positive for COVID-19 on April 25.

National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) said 117 patients are undergoing treatment in the country. The patients undergoing treatment include an 80-year old Maldivian who has been transferred to Dharumavantha Hospital for close monitoring and observation.

NEOC stated 17 patients have fully recovered from COVID-19 in the Maldives so far. NEOC also revealed there are 1,342 individuals in quarantine facilities and 153 individuals in isolation facilities. The centre noted 5,656 samples have been collected to test for COVID-19, with 281 results pending.
