National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) has said it will take long before Maldivians return to normal ways, noting the changes must be embraced even after lifting the lockdown.
Speaking at the daily press briefing held at NEOC, Dr Ibrahim Afzal from the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) said the lockdown declared in the Greater Male' Region will be lifted as it cannot be continued despite the community spread. He said the community must learn to live with COVID-19 as it will still take a long time to return to the life Maldivians were used to.
The doctor additionally cautioned the public to consider personal cleanliness more during the rainy season and urged people to eliminate mosquito breeding sites to prevent the spread of dengue.
