Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO) has begun selling and delivering dustbin bags upon request of the public.
WAMCO stated customers can send name, contact number and address via Viber and the company will deliver the bags to households. The company only accepts bank transfers for the service offered and the payment slips are to be sent to WAMCO via Viber. WAMCO expects to make deliveries within two to three days to households only in Male', Hulhumale' and Vilimale'.
The government utility company managing waste in the Greater Male' Region has also changed its working hours during Ramadan. Waste management centres in Male', Hulhumale' and Vilimale' will be open from 1400hrs until 1700hrs on Fridays, whilst it opens from 1000hrs until 1700hrs on other days of the week. Waste collection from households will be carried between 1200hrs until 1400hrs every day.
The corporate office and regional offices will stay open from 1000hrs until 1400hours on weekdays, while the call centres will operate until 1600hrs every day except for Friday. On Friday, the call centres will be open from 1400hrs to 1700hrs.
