COVID-19 cases in the Maldives rises to 250

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives has risen to 245, including 99 locals and 151 foreigners. HPA said 3 Maldivians, 9 Bangladeshi, and 4 Indians tested positive for COVID-19 on April 28. However, the agency did not reveal the nationalities of the remaining 5 cases.

National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) said Maldives has 231 active COVID-19 cases, with 3 patients undergoing treatment in the DH11 facility in Dharumavantha Hospital. Another 2 individuals who contracted COVID-19 while in the Maldives are undergoing treatment abroad. In total, 17 patients have made full recoveries in the Maldives and there have been no deaths related to COVID-19.

NEOC said there are 1,271 individuals in quarantine facilities and 285 individuals in isolation facilities. NEOC also revealed 7,623 samples were taken, with 6,286 samples testing negative and 1,087 samples pending results.
