Male’ City Council has begun seeking information on residents of the capital city stranded in other islands due to the lockdown imposed on the Greater Male’ Region.
The city council issued an announcement requesting residents of Male’ who have been unable to return to the capital due to the lockdown, to share their details with the council before May 3. The council requested such individuals to share their identity card number, permanent address, current address, email address, and contact number along with the date of departure from Male’ and the reason for return.
Due to the travel restrictions imposed across the country, several people have been stranded in different parts of the country, unable to return home. Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services, along with island councils and the social support group are in efforts to assist stranded individuals in need of assistance by providing food and temporary shelters.
