MMA and banks to be open 3 days a week

Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has revealed banks will be open for 3 days in the next two weeks.

The central bank said banks will be open on May 18, 20 and 26 from 0930hrs to 1200hrs only for essential banking services amid the lockdown imposed in the Greater Male' Region until May 28. While MMA will also be open during these hours, the central bank will not offer services to the general public during the lockdown period.

Despite the closure of government offices amid lockdown, banks have been operating twice a week to provide essential banking services without interruption.
