Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed the number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives has risen to 1,143.
HPA said 1,046 individuals are undergoing treatment for COVID-19 in the Maldives, including 13 patients who are undergoing treatment at Tree Top Hospital and in the DH11 facility at Dharumavantha Hospital. Another 2 foreigners are being treated abroad after contracting the disease while in the Maldives. A total of 91 individuals have made full recoveries from COVID-19 in the Maldives.
Maldives has recorded 4 deaths from COVID-19, including an 83-year-old Maldivian woman, an 88-year-old Maldivian man, an 80-year-old Maldivian man, and a 33-year-old Bangladeshi man.
Meanwhile, there are currently 1,494 individuals in quarantine facilities and 982 individuals in isolation facilities.
HPA has extended the State of Public Health Emergency declared in the Maldives until May 31 and has also extended the lockdown imposed in the Greater Male' Region until May 28.
