National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) has revealed three Bangladeshi nationals repatriated from the Maldives have tested positive for COVID-19.
Speaking at the daily press conference held at the NEOC, Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez said samples were taken prior to their departure from the Maldives. Mabrook said samples are collected from all individuals to test for COVID-19 before they leave the Maldives. He added expatriates repatriated are also tested under the same protocols, noting they will undergo a quarantine period upon arrival to their destinations.
The government announced close to 2,500 Bangladeshi nationals have been repatriated from the Maldives amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
