Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced a 77-year old COVID-19 patient has passed away in the Maldives.
HPA said the 77-year old Maldivian woman passed away while undergoing treatment at DH11 facility established in Dharumavantha Hospital. HPA stated she is the 11th COVID-19 related death to be recorded in the Maldives. She is the spouse of a 92-year-old Maldivian man who passed away on July 2 while undergoing treatment for COVID-19 in the same facility.
The first COVID-19 death was that of an 83-year-old Maldivian woman who passed away on April 29. The COVID-19 deaths recorded in the Maldives include 6 Maldivians, 4 Bangladeshis and 1 Filipino.
The Maldives has recorded 2,435 COVID-19 cases with 390 patients currently undergoing treatment.
